We are Poco People: two passionate, young Tasmanian creatives.
Travis
Travis hails from Queenstown on the West Coast of Tasmania, and specialises in interpretation design, community history and cultural heritage and tourism projects.
Former operator of Travis T Design, Travis holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Tasmania, receiving First Class Honours for his work on The Lake Margaret Power Station Oral History Project. Travis is President of Project Queenstown Inc and Secretary of Queenstown Geopark Project.
He was also the principal organiser of the successful Queenstown Culture and Arts Festival in 2010, and has recently returned from a Churchill Fellowship study trip in Europe and Asia.
Travis is a dab hand at brochures, posters, corporate identities, public art commissions and signage.
Kelly
Kelly has worked full-time in the creative industries since 2005. Former President of Australia’s first ‘young friends’ of a museum and art gallery group, the TMAGgots, Kelly has a passion for the arts and a flair for marketing.
Previously a graphic designer and project manager for e.g. design and In Graphic Detail, Kelly has also worked for Fullers Bookshop and Volunteering Tasmania in marketing and promotions. Kelly was involved in creating the young reading group XYZ, and saw the bookshop shortlisted for an Australian Book Industry Marketing Campaign of the Year award in 2010.
A two-time finalist in the Southern Cross Young Achievers Awards, Kelly has produced 15 editions of her own magazine and enjoys formatting reports and newsletters, as well as helping small businesses and not-for-profits improve their communications.
